I've just read Batgirl #30
...And I want to believe that DC is yanking our collective chains (again!) about the fate of Dick Grayson. I really want to. But after seeing these...
...I just ain't so sure anymore. See, if this was one of Gail's Batgirl stories, I'd take things with a grain of salt. She's the regular Batgirl writer. She's pretty plugged in to what goes on. But this isn't hers. This is a fill-in written by Marguerite Bennett (and she does a much better job than she did with her first one. This doesn't feel like a generic script that could have been for any hero. This is a Batgirl story.) and probably greenlit long before Forever Evil and NW #30 got delayed.
Of course it's very possible that NW faked his death to protect everyone exposed after he got outed. It's possible he didn't tell anyone or Bruce knows and he's keeping quiet because... Bruce. And that would be my "go to" thought if it was a regular writer on the title. But for the first time since this whole mess started, I just ain't so sure anymore.
I want to be gullible. I want to be wrong. I hope I am. But I don't know...
