1. Arch-Duke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated in 1914. 2. Princip was 19 years old at the time. (I'd thought I learned that he was only 14, but Wikipedia says differently. And looking at the art, I guess he could be 19 in that panel. My comment about the date stands, though.)
Not to be picky, but when I write comic fandom I often shift events historically by a year or month or so. Just because the series isn't taking place in the same reality as our reality.
This could have been done entirely on purpose as a subtle nod to that end.
