Look. I am writing three separate stories right now, one of which is a Daredevil fic. Yes, I know I was annoyed the other day by Matt's portrayal in Edge of the Spider-Verse #2. But dang it all, did you have to start making me see how things could have come to that point? Did you have to give me a concrete 12-point outline for bringing him back to the light, as it were?




...You're going to make me write it too, aren't you?



I hate you.


Sigh.

The only thing worse than having plot-bunnies like you is not having them.

I know! It... Edge of the Spider-Verse #2 is a good good comic. Seriously. But there is a 1-page Matt Murdock cameo that doesn't sit well with me. Because in this alternate universe, he's doing something that seems OOC for canon!Matt. If the comic were garbage, I'd roll my eyes and move on. But it's not. Matt is working for Kingpin. Something like that... where it walks like a duck and talks like a duck but acts like a peregrine falcon? I can't let go. My brain starts going into overdrive thinking, "What makes a duck act like a peregrine falcon?" And then I start thinking thoughts. And if I come up with something that seems plausible, then head canon accepted, move on. Except when the bunny sees it and starts tugging and stretching and shaping and... yeah, suddenly it's 'the story that needs to be written'. Sigh.

Explaining canon away, the best writing fuel. But ugh yeah, I hate it when they just show up on the side and are waaaaay out of character in that. :/
